Furniture love.

Posted on 07:52 by gaurav kumar
I'll get back to the gift guide soon (still to come: best friend, coworker...) but in the meantime there are some things that need to be posted. If you have $2000 to spare, you could do worse than spend it on this Danish modern teak loveseat. Isn't it beautiful? (Also, on craigslist, there is a Danish modern two-part sofa and chair for a mere $495. Oh, how I wish I needed a sofa and chair!)

The Cup-of-Jo Holiday Gift Guide

Posted on 07:00 by gaurav kumar
I wasn't going to do a gift guide this year because everyone I'm buying presents for also reads my blog. But when one of my favorite readers requested gift ideas, how could I say no? She is just too cute.

Here's a tip: When brainstorming presents for someone, I first make a list of his or her favorite things--traveling, biking, a new house, a new job, whatever. Once you've chosen a category, it's easier to think of specific gifts. Also, I'm a huge fan of pooling money--you can buy a much cooler present for your dad if your siblings contribute, too.

Ok, here we go! (I'll do a post or two each day...)

Travel Party

Posted on 09:15 by gaurav kumar
Last weekend, my friend Jason had a party where everyone had to wear an accessory from a favorite holiday. Of course, Alex and I chose Berlin. We wore all black, and, in an uncharacteristically crafty moment, I made us pins of the East Berlin traffic light men. I must say, I was pretty proud of them!
