Uh oh. We're screwed!Also, this dude below is totally awesome. He goes around the world, puts the self-timer on two seconds and tries to run as far away from the camera as he can.

Writing a blog over the past year has helped me define my taste in very specific ways. Has it been the same for you, readers-with-blogs? It's funny because I thought I knew, generally, what I liked, but I've gotten much pickier after having a blog, and I've also noticed trends throughout my posts that open my eyes to surprising things.For example, because of my blog, I've realized that I return over and over to....

Do you ever develop blog crushes? Like, when you're reading someone's blog and suddenly realize they're this awesome genius and you can't stop reading through all their archives? It's happened to me before, and, yes, it has happened to me again. Today, my heart went all a flutter when I stumbled upon Smosch. Sandra likes drawing, crotching, taking photos and drinking tea. She is in Berlin right now, yahoo! And she even has a cool secret blog, Smoschmobile, where she posts photos from her camera phone, including the one above from a Berlin gallery. Sigh. Isn't she fabulous?
Gasp! Don't you love today's photograph in Jen Bekman's online shop 20x200? It's a winter scene in Prospect Park by Joseph O. Holmes. It reminds me of childhood walks through the English countryside and bundling up during Michigan winters....Doesn't it make your nose cold and cheeks flushed just looking at it?I think I'm going to buy it! It's one of those prints that I'd love looking at every day. Now, the question is, should I get the smaller print for $20 or the larger for $200? It's a big price difference, but larger prints are more beautiful and evocative. What do you think, dear readers?

Today, at long last, Alex and I are off to Berlin! Thank you to everyone for the great tips on cool places to eat, things to do and sights to see. Can't wait to hit the streets and hang out with dudes like these....

What sweet photos of bears by Jill Greenberg, who set up a huge outdoor studio in Calgary. She really seems to capture their moods and personalities. Her bear show will be exhibited at ClampArt until the end of November. P.S. Has anyone ever seen a bear in the wild? My family did while hiking in Yellowstone, but luckily we escaped unscathed.P.S. Greenberg, a master of capturing emotion, is also lauded for her hilariously named monkey portraits and her heartbreaking photos of children crying.

New York gallerist Jen Bekman is revolutionizing the art world. This month, she launched the online art shop 20x200, where she sells new prints every week in editions of 200 for ONLY $20. On Sunday, Alex and I rented a convertible mini (teeny!) and went to the beach to celebrate the last day of summer. It was really cool and windy, and we rode bikes and ate pizza. The only sad part was that I got sunscreen in my eye for three hours and felt like a five year old. But overall, it was a great day. Welcome to fall, everybody!(Photo by Corey Arnold)
