Nick gets telegrams.

Posted on 04:44 by gaurav kumar
When we were little, we were spending the summer in Cornwall, so my dad sent Nick a telegram for his birthday. It was so exciting and old-fashioned! Now telegrams have been officially discontinued, but perhaps Nick would like this stationery, inspired by a 1920s British telegram.

Letterpress Coasters

Posted on 05:24 by gaurav kumar
A little treat for today: I recently discovered the fabulous Minneapolis-based Papered Together letterpress studio, so I ordered some coasters. They arrived at my office today, and they are so cute! Now I will have to plan a dinner party...

When Modernists Correspond

Posted on 05:31 by gaurav kumar
My mom and I are a little obsessed with stationery. Every time she comes to visit, we spend half the day wandering around from stationery shop to stationery shop. One company I'm loving right now is Little Oranges of California. Their notecards are simple yet heartfelt. And I love their modernist sensibilities. Mama, you like?

It's Girls' Week

Posted on 06:02 by gaurav kumar
This week's theme is girls, a topic loved by all! I'll be posting some lovely treats for my female readers, plus a few things for guys. I'm too sleepy after an action-packed weekend to write much more, but please check back soon. And in the meantime, have a very nice morning.

Happy Birthday, Mama!

Posted on 05:08 by gaurav kumar
It's my mom's birthday today! She is beautiful and smart and kind and wonderful. We're going to Paris in September. (It's always been our dream to go there together and now we're finally doing it.) Our plan is to walk all around the city, look at art, eat cheese and baguettes, people watch, drink wine, and take day trips to chateaus and the Champagne region. She's going to show me where she shopped for our baby clothes and where she and my dad went on dates when they lived there. Seven months and counting...I love you, Mama! Happy Birthday!!

Card Party

Posted on 13:12 by gaurav kumar
I have been getting the CUTEST birthday cards today, which is a treat because I love stationery. Seeing my obvious excitement about all things enveloped, Morgan said, "Why don't you post your cards and throw a little party on your blog?!"

This, my friends, is that party.

This card arrived today from Colby's dad Douglas, who is an artist. (He is also a trivia genius and knows the birthday of every president and pretty much every person he's ever met.) This card was so sweet and unexpected! I love it.

This card was from my mom. The inside says, "I'll never forget."

(Card at top from Morgan)

Thank you, everyone!
