Sartorial Girl Crush
Posted on 05:45 by gaurav kumar
I have a thing for girls; most girls I know are smart, warm, funny and oh-so-pretty. Not surprisingly, I have developed many girl crushes. It's become kind of a joke among my friends. I have them on friends' girlfriends, singers, actresses, most of the waitresses at Cafe Gitane. Sometimes I even develop fleeting crushes on pretty girls on the street who wear beautiful things. This cute shot was taken in the West Village by the Sartorialist. Isn't she lovely?Drink Me

So if you haven't read the hilariously clever Alice in Wonderland in a while, I'd highly recommend revisiting. Such great riddles and wordplay. In the meantime, check out these mugs and glasses. It would be fun to drink from them every morning -- you never know what would happen!

Alice in Wonderland in Vogue
Posted on 05:30 by gaurav kumar
This may be the most gorgeous and clever fashion shoot ever. Vogue cast model Natalia Vodianova as Alice and then dressed the clothing designers as the nutty characters. The concept fits perfectly with the whimsical dresses (and more broadly, the fantastical fashion world)...Oh, Vogue, you can be mean and scary, but you really nailed this one. Readers, don't you love love it?

Crimping was cool -- VERY cool -- when we were in middle school. My sister Lucy really rocked it. Fifteen years later, crimping's making a comeback. In the runway shows this spring, Chanel crimped their models' locks; Michael Kors crimped his models' hair and then twisted it back into buns; Alberta Ferretti did such a subtle crimp that the models looked like they had just a bit of frizz from an ocean breeze. Don't you think it would be fun to pull out the dusty crimping iron and flashback to seventh grade? Just remember: Subtlety's key...
